This is the second year I have participated in the Bernat Blanket Mystery CAL put on by JoAnn Fabrics and The Crochet Crowd. It was kind of a boring, simple pattern last year. but this year it was fun. There was a lot of variety in the stitches. There was surface crochet, basket weave, Jacob’s Ladder. . . My favorite is Jacob’s Ladder. For those unfamiliar with it, it is the braid in the gray stripe. It is fun to make and adds so much to the blanket. I still need to block this blanket. You started in the center with a circle and then you crochet to make it a square. I ended up making the square a little tight so it is buckling. The blocking will help it to lay flat. Since it is made out of blanket yarn and tight stitches, the blanket is very heavy and warm despite not being a huge blanket. It was a lot of fun to do.
